Grubhub

MealPoint Tracker is a data visualization and planning extension for Grubhub, designed to help college students manage their campus meal points. Since meal plans are mandatory and integrated into Grubhub accounts, students often struggle to pace their spending across the semester. We sought to transform this invisible flow of data into an intuitive, actionable, and visually engaging budgeting experience.

The primary goal of MealPoint Tracker is to give students a sense of control and clarity over their meal plan. Many students run out of points early or overspend without realizing it, so we aimed to create a tool that would visualize their remaining balance, spending trends, and personal goals in an intuitive and approachable way.

The interface allows users to monitor real-time progress, see where and how they spend their points, and receive feedback about their projected balance.

We worked within Grubhub’s existing design system, extending its visual language to support a more data-centric experience. This meant retaining consistency in typography, color palette, and iconography while introducing new components suited for interactive charts and data feedback.

The final interface feels cohesive with Grubhub’s existing identity yet introduces an added sense of personal agency and engagement.
