Gioia Wang

Hi, I’m Gioia (Joy-ah), a junior at Washington University in St. Louis studying Communication Design, with minors in Marketing and Human-Computer Interaction. I came to design through a desire to better understand how people interact with visual systems, ways that structure, hierarchy, and interaction influence the way stories are experienced.

I discovered communication design as a space where strategy, creativity, and empathy intersect, allowing me to connect visual expression with user-centered thinking. Through my work, I enjoy translating abstract ideas into tangible interfaces and identities that are both intuitive and expressive. Today, I’m especially interested in UI/UX design, branding, and product design, and in creating work that feels intentional, human-centered, and emotionally resonant.
